Today is RUOK Day where you are encouraged to ask those around us "Are You Ok?" and talk about how they are really going. The idea behind it is that a conversation can change a life for the better and we need to talk about how we are going and not brush it aside.

This year has been hard for a lot of us with continuing lockdowns, cancelled plans and the uncertainty due to Covid. I am sure one day we will look back on this time and it will seem like a distant memory but at the moment it is real and so many of us are in the middle of it. While we should be checking on each other year-round, today is a good reminder to send a text, video chat, catch up or call someone asking how they are really going and listening.

If you get asked "Are You Ok?" answer honestly, it's ok to be not ok and letting people in to know how you are really going means they can help share the load.
